","vision":"The Client stipulated their requirement for a cohesive design that would respect the original character of the building, stand the test of time, and be a welcoming sustainable environment for both employees, and visitors. The design had to be relevant to business needs, be visually appealing whilst critically upholding an air of modesty in its style.
Using sketches, mood boards, samples, VR, and 3D renderings, we were able to illustrate that by embracing the period architecture of the listed building with its incredibly lofty ceilings and original tall sash windows, we could create a contemporary design concept that would seamlessly blend historical features with functionality whilst reflecting the culture of the organisation.

The first-floor office space at 20 King Street is located just moments from magnificent Royal Parks and prestigious iconic hotels such as The Ritz and has ease of access to key areas of London, underground tube lines, and connection to major airports.
As a prominent global player within the chemical industry, Sinochem actively places sustainability at the heart of its corporate management and key decision making, and the design of its new premises had to fully align to these core values.

"," The wall behind the reception desk, features a commissioned hand plastered art piece that replicates the Company’s Peony flower logo and branding that was hand cast in plaster on site and effectively acts as a divider to two bright touch-down soundproof privacy booths.

The light filled reception visitor space with its luxury designer furnishings, soft seating and bespoke joinery and lighting system cannot fail to impress guests to the Company’s offices, and this impression continues throughout the adjoining spaces, including the café style coffee stations, huddle spaces and various meeting rooms.
The impressive 4-metre ceiling height that runs throughout the organisation’s offices, inspired a design opportunity to reduce echo and disruptive noise whilst introducing another level of drama to the space. Installing an acoustically panelled suspended ceiling effectively diffuses sound waves to an original feature, and recessed LED strip lighting brings an air of calm and elegance, while contemporary custom-made pendant lighting adds a modern aesthetic that elevates these modern offices to another level.
The Managing Directors’ office sits adjacent to the reception area. This room stylishly fitted with custom built joinery, designer furniture and acoustic timber panels that enable private meetings and an elevated level of confidentiality. The considered positioning of the MD’s office also allows ease of access to the Company’s 20 seat boardroom.

The back office is the hub of this organisation’s offices and provides a spacious hot-desking / multi-purposed room, a general storage area, and tea points where bespoke joinery provides ample storage for everyday necessities.

With staff wellbeing considered a high priority for Sinochem’s management, we were mindful of designing a floorplan that would sustainably provide airy well-lit offices for both VIP guests and the Company’s workforce. As such, commissioned joinery and quality materials were employed throughout, with the offices and adjoining rest rooms enabling connectivity and downtime away from desks.
Whilst the multi-purpose rest rooms engender a consistent air of comfort, they can be effortlessly reconfigured for informal meetings and hosted team events.
Our design intention for Sinochem’s London office was to create a space that reflected both the Company’s brand, and its ethos of respecting and valuing its employees and guests. The best technology was a crucial requirement for this client, and as such, our people worked collaboratively with Sinochem’s China Comms team in the design and installation of their high-end AV / IT solutions, both prior and during the construction phase.
